My Frain is Bried
Last week in English, or rather Literature I prefer to call it (we are only analysizing works of art now) (and we all kinda graduated from English in fifth grade), we were assigned a paper on the Greek tragedy Antigone. I was pretty proud that I had gotten myself to sit down on Monday when the paper was due on Friday and I wrote my introduction, since it is the most difficult part of the literary analysis for me. I scheduled the rest of my week to ensure that my paper got attention every day. I thought I would have the paper finished by Wednesday and get my friend to peer edit. Yeah, and I also thought that I would have a relaxed, laid out week. On Monday, I had to study for a test that I had to make up the next day. The Antigone test. My schedule listed the elements on the test: quote identification, background story, literary terms used in the play, and major events in the play. Check. Then the doorbell rang and the Brambles came in with their happy, radiant faces saying, "Hi Janelle! We're having dinner at your house tonight!" MAN! I totally forgot that they were coming over for dinner and dessert. So when my introduction cost me all my available time on Monday, I vowed to work on my first and second body paragraph on Tuesday. Tuesday rolled around and I had a lot of math homework that took me all evening. Wednesday, I had to stay after to make up a test and I had a pop quiz in math. Thursday, I had to study for a vocabulary test and I had to write the rest of my paper. Friday, turn in the paper and hope that my neglect didn't show and my laboring over it was apparent. Oh, and I had a math test. And when I got home, I firmly pronounced to my mother with all my being, "My frain is bried."
